Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos confirmed on Wednesday night. The athlete was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on December 29th, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The boxer had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
The news of his discharge comes as the boxing community had expressed sympathy for the champion in the following the terrible crash.
