Palestinian-American Teenager Liberated After Nine Months in Israeli Detention

A Palestinian-American youth who spent a nine-month period in Israel's custody absent formal charges has been freed.

Mohammed Ibrahim was 15 during his detention last February in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, while he was vacationing while residing in Florida accused of stone-throwing against settlement residents, claims he consistently denied.

American diplomatic officials expressed satisfaction with the teenager's freedom.

Currently aged sixteen, required hospitalization right after being freed, family members reported.

According to them, he appears pale, underweight, and is suffering from conditions acquired while detained.

Via family representatives, family spokesperson expressed the family's "overwhelming sense of relief".

The uncle, Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "living a horrific and endless nightmare" over the last nine months.

"Right now, our priority is getting Mohammed urgent medical care necessary for his recovery after being subjected to mistreatment by authorities and inhumane conditions over several months."

US officials announced ongoing to extend consular services for the Ibrahim family.

{"US government authorities has no higher priority to ensuring the safety for United States citizens"," the department emphasized.

Several congressional representatives submitted a formal letter to the state department and President Donald Trump, urging greater action to secure his release.

Mr Ibrahim, parent of four children who runs an ice cream business in Florida, previously said Mohammed acknowledged allegations to throwing stones due to physical abuse.

The father hadn't visited nor direct contact following the detention, and only heard about his son's condition in detention through court documents.

Mohammed was held without charge at Ofer detention facility on the West Bank.
