Previous BBC Specialists Participate in Parliamentary Inquiry Following Allegations of Partiality in Disclosed Memorandum
We open with queries from Tory Member of Parliament the panel's head, that leads the committee.
She opens by giving context to the disclosed document written by Michael Prescott and released in a daily publication.
"I don't want the British Broadcasting Corporation tilting this way or that way, I simply desire it straight, fair and equitable," he declares.
Upon being questioned whether he considers the BBC is institutionally biased, Prescott responds: "No I don't. Let's be clear, tons of stuff the BBC does is exceptional - both informative and entertainment programming."
However, he continues: "There remains substantial tasks that must be undertaken at the BBC."
A further former external BBC specialist interviewed by the committee, Caroline Daniel, remarks she regards the British Broadcasting Corporation very seriously and that it operates a "persistent practice and vigorous discourse" across dynamic and complex issues.
"Did the BBC ready to have a proper conversation and exchange and take action?" she asks herself. "In my view, yes they were."
