This event caused the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two individuals are now facing charges following a luggage theft where a substance thought to be irritant spray led to people being hurt at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and charges for using a harmful chemical, authorities have stated.

This legal action stems from an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their suitcases taken after getting out of a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.

A toddler was among those injured in the event. Five people required hospital care and were subsequently released.

The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and deemed non-terroristic – led to train delays and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
